The secret to living is giving. Yes, this is my quote of the day. This actually goes a long way when you think about it. In life, we always tend to receive more than we give, but ultimately if you want an abundant life it is more important to give than receive. I think this is actually universally true. When I say give more, I am not just talking about tangible things that we can touch. I am talking about giving in a whole. Examples of these could be:
Give your heart
Give your knowledge
Give your value
When I say you receive more when you give more, I am meaning, psychologically you transform your mind out of the scarcity mindset.
Scarcity is defined as the state of being scarce or in short supply; shortage. When us as humans have that scarcity mindset, we all believe that there is not enough to go around. Therefor, we hold on for dear life what we really should be giving to the world. Often times we are so stuck in that mindset of not enough to go around, it becomes our reality. This is also call the law of correspondence. In accordance to a great article I just read, about the law of correspondence. The Law of Correspondence basically says that our current reality is a mirror of what is going on inside us. Our reality is a result of our inner most dominant thought. So if we feel that there is never enough to go around, this will basically reflected in our lives. It’s like a cascading never ending cycle. We are pretty much our own enemy. All of this is practically self-perpetuating. Another good section of the article that I read is as follows:
“When we start to feel bad on the inside, our perception of the outer world starts to look bad. The worse the outer world becomes, the worse we then feel on the inside. It’s like when obese people say, “I eat because I’m unhappy and I’m unhappy because I eat.” It all ends up having a direct impact on our reality.”
Most this is defining self-perpetuation.
I have come to realize that the only thing that I have control of regardless of anything that happens is, “MYSELF”. I have fallen guilty of have a scarcity mindset. The thing is… I can actually admit that. Many individuals cannot admit that. Why? This is because it is much easier on our egos to blame someone else for what is wrong in our lives, than it is to accept the responsibility!
I have come to the point where I accept full responsibility for what is going on in my life. I have come to realize why I excelled so much 6 or 7 years ago, and why I am in the situation that I am in right now. Which is working for someone, and not have unlimited abundance at my disposal. I am have road a downhill spiral because I changed my mindset. I started to blame everyone else for my own life. I started to develop a scarcity mindset. I stop giving more than I received. I come with some much knowledge and I completely stop giving adding value to other’s lives because of my scarcity mindset. I stopped having the mindset of unlimited abundance. I started to see everything as, what’s in it for me. Hence the reason I am in the situation that I am in right now. Working for my paycheck.
Today I am making a covenant. I will no longer have a scarcity or poverty bound mindset. I believe that there is unlimited abundance. There is plenty to go around. I will give more than I receive. I will add value to everyone’s life that I encounter. People tend to focus on money so much they forget, it is not the money that is important, it is the value that you add to other’s lives. And when you add value, money we inevitably come in abundance.
