The dating world has definitely changed.  Technology is a big reason for that.  I remember when you actually wanted to go out on a date with a woman, it required a six step process.

  1. Build the courage to go up to her
  2. Have a conversation with her
  3. Hopelessly ask for her number
  4. Actually talk to her on the phone
  5. Then ask her on a date

Currently in this present day the six step process has been cut to two steps.  Dating websites and apps like tinder, POF, eharmony, Zoosk, and many more allow a user to get a date within minutes.  Now this all depends on the the opposite party as well.  But there are so many users on these platforms from every walk of life, anybody that is anybody can find a date.

Now the problem with these dating platforms…

Civilization’s method for communication is increased, but personable communication is either diminished or manipulated.

When users are on these dating platforms, of course a big percentage of them want to land dates, but often times it’s for the wrong reasons.  In my previous post, I talked about how superficial dating websites can be.  Usually the biggest connections users get are based off of the other parties profile pictures.

The problem with this is

You may be physically attracted to this user, but there lies an underlining problem.

YOU TWO HAVE NOTHING IN COMMON!!!!!

I can’t tell you the countless stories I have heard about relationships that don’t work, that started on dating platforms.  I mean… even I have been on dates that didn’t work from dating platforms.  I mean sure, you may satisfy a temporary sexual craving, but in the end, it just doesn’t work out.  This is all because the person that you sexually and physically connected have absolutely nothing in common.

Another problem with dating platforms is that users live in a fantasy.  I mean, when you look at a profile you only see part of story.  You see that user at his or her best.  You catch them at there best moments.  It looks as if that user is just living and loving life.  If seems like that user is the man or woman of your dreams.

But what you don’t see is the reality behind that picture.  That user has his or her flaws as well.  They are just regular people just like you.  So then you go into the date with your expectations high.  You have already ruined the date before you even started the date.

Technology and dating has it’s pro and cons.  But you still have to realize, there is more to dating than sex.  It is stated that since the inception of dating platforms STD outbreak has increased significantly.

But don’t fear, there are dating platforms for individuals that has contracted STDs.

The bottom line is, technology has definitely changed dating forever.  The amount of time that it takes to get a date decreases as technology increases.  This could be a good or bad thing.  I’ll leave that opinion up to you.
